Half a Year

Time sure flies...
It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming Phoenix to the world.
Today he is 6 months old!

At 6 months, he is REALLY close to crawling...
He loves to suck the same fingers his momma sucked when she was little...
He is forever putting things in his mouth...
Fingers, feet, toys, clothing...
anything he can grab and shove in there! :)
Those are some yummy looking toes!!
He smiles... a lot!
(almost makes up for the lack of sleep he causes *grin*)
He tasted his first food (applesauce) and seemed to like it!
(He kept diving for the spoon when I would get it close.)
He is well loved by his brothers and sisters (and his mommy and daddy!!).
They all do a fabulous job helping to care for him.
We are so thankful God chose to bless us with Phoenix.

31 Days

I can't believe it's already been about a month since I started the 31 Days challenge.  While I'm only about 1/2 way through the e-book (not doing one challenge each day) it's already made a big difference, not only in my home, but also in my heart and mind.  The house is looking much better, and as a result, I'm feeling better about myself!

Two things, I believe, are primarily responsible for my success (outside of the strength and grace God provides):  The 6 List (from the book), and my partnership with an old college roommate.  Every day, Jodie and I make a 6 List and send each other a text of our goals for the day.  Every day, we send before and after pictures of the areas we're working on.  Every day, we text updates on how were doing.  Every day, we learn a bit more about each other, and our friendship has grown/deepened through this process.  I'm so thankful for her encouragement and support in this!!

Soon (I hope) I would like to do a short video walk-thru of our home to show everyone how things work around here... Living in 1000 sq. ft. with 9 humans, a cat, and a dog, certainly has it's challenges, but we do it (albeit, in an unconventional way).  "How do you do it?!" is a question I hear quite often.  Up until now, my house has not been 'put together' enough to want to show anyone... but now things are much better!  (I would no longer be embarrassed for any one of you to show up unannounced on my doorstep. *grin*)

If any of you are struggling with the heart-reason or the actual process of getting your home clean and organized (and keeping it that way!) I would HIGHLY recommend spending the little bit of money to get Sarah Mae's e-book.

Three verses (among many) that make a difference:

“She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.”
Proverbs 31:27

“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for me…”
Colossians 3:23

“Do all things without grumbling…”
Philippians 2:14
