Projects

Quite a while ago (over a year?) Chase was dealing with some anger issues and in the process made some poor decisions. On of those involved his brothers guitar case and the wall. The result was a large hole in the bedroom wall just above the height of the mattress. The hole was covered, but at some point the tape was partially taken off... here's what we found in the wall. LOL

Also on the wall - conveniently right next to the hole - was an outlet that was not hooked up. The plan is to hook up the outlet and do a bit of "adjusting" as to what is run off that circuit. We discovered that 1/2 the kitchen outlets, the dining room outlets, and the lights and outlets in the laundry room were all on one circuit. Who does this??? So, now we have a plan in place to fix things as best we can. In the meantime, here's the temporary fix. (We removed the old outlet and will replace it when we do the permanent work on the wall.)

Another project on our list involves turning the walk-in closet in the girls room into a sewing room for me. I use the term "walk-in" loosely, as this is what the room currently looks like...

I know, Yikes! It's a huge mess. While it's waiting to fulfill it's purpose, it has a temporary job as a storage closet. As we work on making this a usable space for me, I'm hoping to remember to take more pictures and post updates. :) We always joke that we forget to take before pictures which makes the after a little less impressive. So, I'm working on changing that! Stay tuned...

And, one last project. In the never-ending quest to make the most of the space in our small home, we have discussed several options for sleeping arrangements. Eventually, we will be building another set of bunk beds, but for now, we are getting my old daybed from my parents to use for Victory. The bigger boys will get Victory and Shiloh's bunk beds, and Shiloh will get this (after it's painted pink of course!)...

This toddler bed was made using plans we found free online and modified to make them work best for us. Also "free" were the materials as they were all leftovers from other projects, so the wood was all found in our shed. So, with about 1-1/2 hours and no money we were able to make a new bed. Fun!

Very adorable..had I known you needed one..you could have had mine. It's waiting in the garage sale pile. I would have even delivered it - bonus would be that we got to see each other!

Although her home made bed is MUCH cuter.
